The MD of Notts based consulting engineers, Morgan Tucker, is joining other business leaders from the East Midlands on a trip to spread environmental good practice in Romania.
Matthew Tucker will be spending five days (5-10 October) in a number of areas of the country as part of an initiative run by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) in conjunction with the National Union of Councils of Romania (UNCCR) and a company called Innovas who specialise in assisting companies in the environmental sector develop their international business.
The UNCCR have actively been looking for East Midlands businesses to work in Romania with Romanian companies to fill the expertise and experience gaps and implement successful business solutions to deliver significant environmental projects. Areas that will be looked at will be waste management; contaminated land remediation; waste water treatment; water supply and recycling.
30 billion euros have been allocated from the European funds over the next 8 years to deliver infrastructure and water, waste management and contaminated land remediation projects, offering excellent opportunities for UK businesses.
Matthew Tucker, who was selected to attend the trade mission along with 11 other business delegates, says "I am extremely pleased and proud to be asked to go on such a high profile mission along with other leading East Midlands businesses. John Sharp, Managing Director of Innovas, who organised the mission says, "Companies have been specially selected as well as nominated based on their expertise on technologies in different areas. Morgan Tucker is an up and coming company in the East Midlands and is working on some key projects across the country that are particularly relevant to on going issues in Romania. Matthew was therefore an ideal candidate for the trip."
Over the five days the delegates from the 11 companies will have the chance to visit the regions of Bucharest and Brasov where they will be able to meet key decision makers from different environmental agencies from surrounding regions. They will be participating in a conference in Brasov highlighting environmental best practice and solutions from the East Midlands - this will be featured on national TV and covered by national and regional press. They will also be given the opportunity to build relationships with key national and regional purchasers of environmental products and services in Romania.
