Morgan Tucker launch travel plan monitoring service |
Morgan Tucker has recently launched a Travel Plan monitoring service that is aimed at Local Authorities, Developers, schools and private organisations.
A travel plan is a range of measures aimed at promoting sustainable travel within an organisation, or at a specific location, with an emphasis on reducing dependency on single occupancy car journeys.
The key to a successful travel plan is to develop a range of measures and targets that can be implemented that relate specifically to the organisation or location where the travel plan is being implemented. It is essential that these measures and targets be monitored to ensure the travel plan continues to achieve its objectives.
Many travel plans are implemented as part of the planning process as Section 106 agreements or planning obligations and it is therefore essential that their long term effectiveness and adherence to targets continue to be monitored. Bill Smart, Director at Morgan Tucker explains ‘a travel plan that does not continue to be monitored and amended as the organisation develops and changes will not be effective. The service that Morgan Tucker offers means that monitoring of the travel plan and its targets is easy.
The service can be tailored to suit each travel plan but in essence Morgan Tucker will ensure that annual data collection exercises are undertaken to monitor the effectiveness of the travel plan. If necessary, we will then work with the Local Authority, School, Applicant etc to ensure the travel plan and its measures and targets are amended to ensure it is as effective as possible.
