Matthew Tucker appointed to Civil Engineering Industrial Advisory Board

As part of the University of Glamorgan development strategy and, in particular, its strategic goal of aligning the learning experiences and achievements of students more closely with the current and future needs of employers and professional bodies, the Division of Civil Engineering, together with representatives of construction industry companies, has set up a civil Engineering Industrial Advisory Board of which Matthew Tucker has been made a member.

The Board assists in bringing about real improvements in all its areas of operation.  Our vision is to work in collaboration between academia and industry, and develop mutually supportive initiatives to promote learning and career opportunities for students on Civil Engineering courses at the University; and also to provide the construction industry with the appropriate short courses and training services when required, as well as the opportunity to influence the design of civil engineeering awards that produce the most suitable, quality graduates for the employers.

David Tann, Co-Chairman of the Board said 'Matthew is a past alumni of the University who has now established a successful engineering consultancy and as such has first hand experience of what skills and qualities graduates need that are important to employers.
