Morgan Tucker, one of the leading consultancies in highways, transportation and civil engineering has achieved ISO 9001 accreditation. ISO 9001 is the total quality standard that demonstrates that a company complies rigorously with processes, responsibilities and procedures in all its operations.
Steve Hall, Design Manager for Morgan Tucker, comments: “We were already complying with most of the requirements of the standard but we wanted formal recognition that, as a service provider, our systems and procedures are as good as we say they are.’ Remarkably, from embarking on the project to gaining accreditation took only five weeks, several months is the norm, demonstrating the effectiveness of processes and procedures we already had in place.’” There are still a relatively small proportion of companies in the UK that hold this accreditation and as such Morgan Tucker are now at the forefront of quality service and customer care. John Flynn, who undertook the assessment for QMS Quality Management Systems, paid particular tribute to ‘the investment in people and training that enables Morgan Tucker to provide an efficient service to their customers. Ultimately, achieving ISO 9001 sets in place a solid framework of standards and procedures that will support the business as it moves forward. Morgan Tucker is a fast growing company with their head office in the East Midlands; they will open a second regional office in Berkshire during August this year and Cardiff next year with other plans to open regional offices in the North West and West Midlands. This accreditation means that they will be able to offer their customers, both at home and abroad, the same seamless project delivery for many years to come. Morgan Tucker Managing Director, Matthew Tucker said "am not surprised accreditation took such a short time, we have always been committed to the quality of the service we provide and as such we had good processes and systems in place from an early stage, it is, however, satisfying to have these recognised by the ISO 9001 quality standard’ ISO 9001 is only one of a long list of accreditation targets we are working towards, it will shortly be followed by Investors in People, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001." |
